In Germany, like in most of the countries, the watching over civilians is a synonym of state security and mass control. THE EYE is a responsive sound installation that intervenes in the connection between nationalism (in this case the german anthem) and state surveillance (represented by the response of the sound due to the movements of the visitor).
THE EYE was at first exhibited at Nollendorfplatz subway station in Berlin as a public sound intervention. A month later THE EYE took part in the project/exhibition "Raices Multiples" as an interactive sound installation.
